Metallica and no selling out

When i was eighteen i don't forget my brother coming back house in California with a new cd from a band called Metallica: kill them all. The sound had been as well avant gardiste for me in the beginning. I wan into the standard deep purple, Kiss, Aerosmith rock.
Then i read the Metallica stories and interviews in French rock magazines. Metallica was practically completly unknows within the USA. But Metallica ahad just a little following in Europe, especially the scandinavian countries, Germany and France. The interviewers had been asking James hatefiels, kirk hamett, cliff burton and lars ulrich why would they not change their music to possess additional airplay and sell additional cd's and be accepted by the common audiences?
Then Metallica answered, that they will not sell out, they would rather die and cease playing music than play hair band music of dance music! I was rather impressed by the faithfulness in the Metallica's band members on playing interesting music and a thing that would make the music globe progress and be innovative, than playing a thing which has currently been completed to produce more income! Is it accurate that Metallica is and was not for everybody. A lot of people usually do not undrstand exactly where rock and roll comes from. There is no dance groove, the common ppublic likes the singins melodies if not they're lost, and in Metallica's music there is a great deal of instrumental passages! Then Metallica gor the opening slot for Ozzy osbourne all more than the north American tour. I don't forget for the reason that i was inside the Los Angeles auditorium listening them as the majority in the prople in the audience did not know what to perform with them! Most of the people within the audience were spellbound!
